In a discussion recently, I tossed out the idea that our current political climate and world events are exposing the collective shadow, meaning humanity’s shadow. If it is true, what an incredible opportunity for humanity to do some vital introspection and necessary cleansing.
It would require each person to do their own work toward healing emotional wounds, generational trauma and the like. The ultimate effect would be a rise in consciousness of the whole planet. Of course, not everyone is aware enough to engage, although those who are, can begin to shift the collective energy over time. Even small awakenings ripple outward.
Pushback ensued with one person in the discussion insisting that one of the polarizing political figures was the ‘shadow’. “He’s the only shadow!”, she demanded.
Honestly, you cannot look at the political figure, or anyone for that matter, and insist ‘shadow’ without having a similar aspect within yourself. In other words, if you did not have that ‘quirk’ within yourself, you would not be able to see it in another. The more healed or whole we are, the less we judge others.
The best example I can give to demonstrate this is Jesus the Christ. Whether you are a believer or not, the metaphor is perfect: He could not see sin or error in another because of his purity. He saw Grace, because he is Grace.
We are all a reflection of one another.
Truth.
